Columbia Lions Home Opener this Sunday, April

Dear Columbia Men’s Lacrosse alumni and friends,

Thank you for your support of our team!  The Lions are back at Baker for their long-awaited (and once-delayed from last weekend) home opener this Sunday, April 2 against City College of New York! The opening faceoff will be shortly after 5 PM at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium.

Tomorrow's game will mark the Columbia debut of new Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator Ryan Friedman! Ryan, pictured at right, is the first paid Assistant Coach in the modern history of Columbia Men's Lacrosse and we are so happy to have him join us! A native of Ardsley, NY, Ryan played at Division III Hamilton College and was a teammate of current Head Coach Austin Scronce SEAS '22!  A master of the dodge down the alley, Ryan spends his time off the lacrosse field as a software engineer for Bloomberg and taking walks at the beach while the sun sets. Ryan brings a complementary skill set to Austin's defensive acumen that will significantly boost the team as it takes on its Uptown rival tomorrow, and in upcoming rivalry contests with NYU.

Photos and video from these and all 2023 games will be posted on our Instagram account: www.instagram.com/makeit8lax.  Additional games are being added to the schedule daily and these will continue to be posted as scheduling confirmations are given. Later games will include local rivals NYU and City College along with Ivy rival Yale!
