Lions Open 2020 Season with Win Over ASA College

In one of the earliest and coldest season-opening games in Columbia men's lacrosse history, the Lions defeated the ASA College Avengers 5-3 on Thursday night at Wien Stadium.  The team built a 4-1 lead in the second quarter behind two goals from Alex Cohen and one each from team captain Harry Schiller and Eldridge Clark-Herrera.  Eldridge's goal was a behind-the-back beauty off a rebound following a save by the ASA goalie.  After ASA closed to within a goal in the third quarter the Lions shut the door defensively, led by defenseman Dom Benitez and goalie Brendan McDougal (six saves).  Ryan Napolitano sealed the win with a goal late in the fourth quarter.
