Lions Move Above .500 With Homecoming Victory

The Lions topped the Monmouth Hawks by an 11-7 score on Friday night at a rainy, cold Wien Stadium.

Midfielder Ripley Nielsen provided the highlight of the game midway through the second half, finding the top corner of the net while falling to the ground as the result of a Monmouth defender's slash.

The goal broke a 7-7 tie, and the ensuing man-up allowed the Lions to take control of the game, in which they scored the final three goals without allowing Monmouth any extended possession.  The win brings the team to 4-3 ahead of their next action, a doubleheader at Sacred Heart on Saturday. April 13.
